An introduction to Kitzbühel Chalet

How would you describe Kitzbühel Chalet in a nutshell?

Kitzbühel Chalet is a luxurious, modern house at the foot of the Kitzbühel Alps. It’s a place where time meets the forest and glamour meets alpine happiness.

What is the story behind Kitzbühel Chalet, what was your inspiration to create it?

The motivation to create Kitzbühel Chalet was so that I had a place in the Alps where I could hang out, ski and walk in the mountains. I live in Munich and it is nice to have somewhere to spend the weekends or work undisturbed.

After having it to myself for a few years, I wanted to rent it out and allow others to appreciate coming here. It will also give me the time and opportunity to create something new.

How would you describe the atmosphere and interior design of Kitzbühel Chalet?

Most of the interior is created by Holzrausch, so it is a high-end interior design. The property is luxurious but cozy — there is everything you need for contemplation.

To you personally, what is so special about Kitzbühel Chalet?

It’s very calm and you are in the middle of nature but you are also surrounded by other houses and not alone. There is a small river coming from the mountain and great views towards the Kitzbühel Alps. The property is close enough to the city centre that you can walk there, as well as being easily accessible to hiking and cycling trails.

Kitzbühel Chalet rooms & rates

From the garaged parking area that is attached to the house, you enter the property and can use the lift to go up or take the staircase. On the entrance level is a spa area with a sauna and rain shower, as well as a small home cinema with a big screen and a sofa where kids can watch TV undisturbed.

On the first floor is the sleeping area, which consists of three bedrooms, all of which have ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom has an additional bathtub and a walk-in shower. Also on this floor is a garden and a small terrace.

On the second floor is the open-plan kitchen and living area, plus an outside terrace with a barbecue grill. There’s also an amazing, wood-panelled room with a cozy area where you can lie and read a book, watch a film or just have space to yourself. An additional two beds are also found here if you need more sleeping places, bringing the total capacity to eight people.

Outside but attached to the house is a fitness room.

Things to do in Tyrol & Kitzbühel

  • Night life
  • Golf
  • Skiing
  • Hiking
  • Cycling

In winter, you can go skiing, snowshoeing and ice skating, and there are also Christmas markets taking place in the lead-up to the holiday season. Kitzbühel Chalet is five to ten minutes’ drive from the ski lifts, depending on where you want to go.

Summer is great for hiking and there are also mountain biking trails to explore. You can go swimming in the lake or at one of the public pools and there are several golf courses nearby. If you’re travelling with kids, there is also a dinosaur park. One of the unique things about Kitzbühel is that there is something to do throughout the year and a huge choice as to how you spend your time.

The location of Kitzbühel Chalet

Kitzbühel Chalet is around 20 minutes on foot from the centre of Kitzbühel or five minutes by car. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance of the property, with the closest eatery around five minutes away. While the supermarket isn’t far (15 minutes on foot), it’s more convenient to drive if you are buying a lot of groceries.

I love this area because it’s a rural, alpine area with lots of outdoor sports in both the winter and summertime. It’s one of the few places in the region that is attractive throughout the year. I also like that you can socialize at parties or be alone in the mountains. You have both options, which is great.

When is the best time to visit Tyrol?

Pre-Christmas is a very good time to visit for skiing and winter sports and it’s not too crowded. The holiday season attracts lots of people and, aside from the outdoor pursuits, there are plenty of parties taking place.

Around April/May, the hiking season begins and extends through until October. In the summer, you have the ATP tennis tournament and lots of other events, including a twice-weekly market in Kitzbühel. There are also some very nice restaurants that are open up in the mountains where you can dine. November is a very quiet month in Kitzbühel.
