How would you describe the Sardinian Villas in a nutshell?
The villas are not simply luxury villas, they are a set of experiences within Sardinian nature. The luxury is in their architecture, in their design, in the silence, in the tranquility transmitted by the surrounding nature. They have been defined by Massimiliano Fuksas as ‚Sculptures to live in’.
How would you describe the architecture and the interior design of the Sardinian Villas?
A work of bio-architecture that incorporates the shapes of the Nuragic houses, as well as the colors and shapes of the land. Openings of different sizes create unexpected flashes of light that are projected on the walls. The play of light and shadow together with the irregular shapes of the structure play a fundamental role in the architectural composition, making the shape dynamic.
The exterior remains strongly linked to the earth and natural elements, while the interiors are a contemporary design by the genius of Doriana Fuksas, who wanted to contrast the colors of the Sardinian with the bold and bright colors of the fabrics, furnishings and interior finishes. The lamps, the fabrics, the compositions, everything has been studied in detail to make these villas unique. Slamp, Venini, Moroso, are just some of the brands that have collaborated in the creation of the furnishings, inserted in the four villas with extreme care by Doriana Fuksas.
Please describe the estate where the villas are located. Are there any other villas?
The four villas are part of the first of 9 islands conceived by Fuksas in the general masterplan. The island is made up of a total of 15 villas.
To you personally, what is so special about the Sardinian Villas?
The uniqueness of the villas lies in what they convey. They are special because of the wonderful setting in the Sardinian Mediterranean bush with a view of the golf course and one of the most beautiful seas in Sardinia. They are so special because they could not have been in a different context from the one in which they were conceived. They blend perfectly with the place and their structure fits perfectly into the landscape. They are a work of art, they are a discovery within the Mediterranean bush.
