An introduction to Villa Vipp

How would you describe Villa Vipp in a nutshell?

Designed to perfection, Villa Vipp is a place where modern architecture meets century-old customs. It lies nestled amidst ancient olive trees and is a sanctuary from the world. Guests can enjoy the peaceful countryside, just a stone's throw from Ostuni and the Puglian beaches.

What is the story behind the villa, what was your inspiration to buy it and rent it out?

Villa Vipp was designed by StudioToff and decorated by Vipp, a Danish brand known for its high-end interior furnishings. This is no regular rental, with the luxury interiors taking the villa to another level of comfort.

We fell in love with not only the villa but also its prime location. It lies between the “white city” of Ostuni, Cegile Messapica (one of Puglia’s oldest cities and renowned for its culinary delights) and the beaches of Puglia.

We would love to live there ourselves. But for now, we will let others enjoy it too.

How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Villa Vipp?

Elegant, clean, crisp and modern.

To you personally, what is so special about Villa Vipp?

This is where I come to indulge, to escape and to enjoy life. The beauty of the villa along with the beauty of the landscape is just like no other place. It truly is a dream.

Villa Vipp rooms & rates

As you drive up the stone-fenced road that leads to Villa Vipp, you’re looking out across the most dreamy Puglian landscape. The villa itself is surrounded by a huge garden and fields of olive trees, so privacy is guaranteed.

First, you notice the pool and the way the terrace flows into the garden. Upon entering the villa, you arrive in the large, open-plan living area where you can entertain or chill on the couch. The kitchen is absolutely stunning with its slick cabinetry and smooth finish and offers views out across the pool to the olive grove.

To the right is the master bedroom, from where you can wake to views across the hills. There is a desk behind the bed, which is the perfect place to collect your thoughts. Off to one side is a large bathroom, offering views across the fields as you get ready for the day.

Back in the living area, there are two other doors, both of which lead to beautifully decorated bedrooms. The joint bathroom with ‘jack and jill’ doors means you always have privacy.

Steps from the living area is an outdoor living space where you can cook up a storm on the barbecue or take a plunge and lounge by the pool. Finally, when it’s time for sundown, head to the roof terrace, where you can enjoy the sun setting over the olive grove.

The pool is 47 square metres with walk-in stairs for maximum accessibility.

Our concierge service can help with booking taxis and transport around the region, as well as bicycle rentals and arranging tours to Puglia’s historic villages. I’d also recommend spending a day exploring the coastline by boat and we can help to arrange boat rentals for guests.

Additionally, you can have a massage at the villa or take advantage of a qualified personal trainer. Babysitters can also be arranged for parents travelling with kids who want a night off during their stay.

Things to do in Puglia & Ostuni

  • Massages / Treatments
  • Horseback riding
  • Sailing / Kayaking
  • Boat trips

In 15 minutes by car, guests can be in the picturesque town of Ostuni or the gastronomic mecca of Ceglie Messapica. Alberobello is 30 minutes away and is famed for its trulli houses with their quintessential cone designs. In 40 minutes, you can be in the historic port of Monopoli or Polignano a Mare, one of the most beautiful seaside towns in Puglia.

A little further away are Lecce (one hour), which has been described as the “Florence of the Baroque”, and Materia (1.5 hours), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s renowned for its rock churches. For wine tasting, head to Terre Di Santvito, an enchanting vineyard on the outskirts of Ostuni.

In terms of beaches, we are close to Sabbiadoro, with its luxury king-size sun loungers, and the Guna Beach Club, where you can dine on traditional Apulian cuisine. Also nearby is Murmur Beach, which lies amidst a landscape of rare beauty along the Ionian coast of Upper Salento.

As for my highlights, I’d recommend visiting the “white city” of Ostuni, which perches above the flatlands on the highest point of a mountain ridge. It will put you under its spell. In Alberobello, you can admire trulli as far as the eye can see. I’d also recommend enjoying a refreshing dip at one of the beaches.

The location of Villa Vipp

Villa Vipp is positioned on the top of a hill amongst idyllic olive trees. We are around 15 minutes’ drive south of Ostuni and the same distance from Cegile Massapica. The prime location allows you to be everywhere you want to be within minutes.

Within 30 to 40 minutes’ drive are the trulli village of Alberobello, the fortified coastal town of Monopoli and the spectacular beach of Polignano a Mare. If you want to venture further afield, you can reach Lecce in an hour. This must-see city is known for its Baroque architecture and fantastic restaurant scene.

The closest beaches are around 20 minutes away and within 30 minutes you have access to several beach clubs.

The closest restaurants are 10 minutes’ drive away in the culinary town of Cegile Messapica or 15 minutes if you’re heading to Ostuni. There is also a Carrefour supermarket 15 minutes away.

When is the best time to visit Puglia?

In July and August, you can enjoy the summer vibes. While the heat is on, you can relax amongst the olive trees and cool down beside the pool. To escape the summer rush, opt for June or September when you can expect sunshine for days. April/May and October are also generally sunny and an extension of summer.
