How would you describe Hotel Osmoliš in a nutshell?
Hotel Osmoliš is a beautifully designed hotel with timeless architecture, which combines with a magnificent location to create a special atmosphere.
What is the story behind Hotel Osmoliš, what was your inspiration to create it?
Hotel Osmoliš is a family project. For a long time, we have been carefully planning this project. The idea was to build a property in the place where we come from and live. The goal was to create a beautiful and sustainable facility that will suit the area.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Hotel Osmoliš?
Although the hotel has an intimate and exclusive atmosphere, its public spaces are airy and open, which makes it ideal for meeting and relaxing. The public areas are located on the glazed ground floor with an unobstructed view of the sea.
In addition to its concrete and glass walls, the interior is dominated by wood as a means of contrast. All of the apartments and rooms are furnished simply, with calm lines and natural materials. Many of the furnishings are from a well-known Croatian design company.
In designing the property, the focus was on ensuring that neither the public spaces nor the accommodation units obstructed the spectacular views of the sea and islands.
To you personally, what is so special about Hotel Osmoliš?
In addition to its design and location, the hotel is special because it is owned and run by family members, which significantly affects the quality of service that is offered. The daily interactions between employees, co-workers and guests reflect how much we care about the satisfaction of guests, ensuring they go home with great memories.
Hotel Osmoliš consists of two buildings — the main building and the suite complex — each of which has its own entrance. The entrance to the main building is located on the ground floor, where you’ll find the reception, our restaurant and lobby bar, plus the swimming pool with its sundeck. Of course, everything is glass-walled to make the most of the great views.
One floor down are the wellness and spa facilities, which include a fitness room, a massage room and a sauna, with a combination of infrared and Finnish hot stones.
Spread across three floors above the ground level are the rooms, all of which offer spectacular views (although the top floor has the best views). Behind the main hotel building is a big car park, which is available for all guests.
Beneath the restaurant terrace is the suite complex, which again has a private car park. The suite complex consists of two floors and is entered via the upper level. Here you will find two fully equipped, two-bedroom suites with a private jacuzzi on the terrace. Downstairs are two additional two-bedroom suites with a private pool and sundeck.

The closest beach to the hotel is Brsečine Beach, which is a 700-metre walk down the hill. One of the most popular beaches in the region is also close and can be reached by car in two or three minutes.
My highlights would be: Visiting Elafite Island (directly across from the hotel), the Trsteno Arboretum and the Peljesac Peninsula.
The hotel is located in an elevated part of Brsečine, which is 17 kilometres from Dubrovnik. It’s set amidst a Mediterranean landscape where tradition is still alive and dotted with family houses that are passed down from generation to generation. Surrounding the hotel are Mediterranean plants and olive groves, meaning local residents are closely connected with nature. Almost every family (including ours) is involved in olive growing, which is a centuries-old tradition in the region.
A 15-minute walk from the hotel is the local beach of Brsečine, which is also a port from where you can easily visit the nearby Elafite Islands. Three kilometres away is the Arboretum Trsteno, which is one of the oldest arboretums in Europe, while a half-hour drive will see you in the small town of Ston or on the Pelješac Peninsula. Nearby are famous oyster farms, one of Croatia’s longest city walls and one of the country’s best wine-growing regions.
The south of Croatia enjoys a perfect Mediterranean climate that guarantees plenty of sunshine and warm days. It has beautiful natural landscapes, exceptional cultural heritage and a rich gastronomy based on healthy Mediterranean food. In addition, the area is known for its relaxing way of life and sense of security. It certainly raises the quality of living and there is something "magical" about this part of Croatia that is difficult to describe (but that visitors always feel).
Given the fact that Dubrovnik and its surroundings are a popular tourist destination (with large summer crowds), it is best to visit in the springtime when the warm days begin. At this time, the natural world is slowly waking up and the area can be explored more calmly.
Autumn is also a good time to avoid the crowds as the sea is still warm enough for swimming and it is a relaxing time to be at the beach.
