The Eixample Penthouse is located right on Avenida Diagonal which is the main avenue in Barcelona that splits the city in two diagonally, separating the city from east to west. It was previously known for being an ideal place for the Catalan aristocrats. Here you will find architectural Modernist buildings like that of Casa de les Punxes by Josep Puig i Cadafalch.
Gayxample, the gay district with an abundance of nightclubs, shops, bars and restaurants is located within 5 minutes walking distance. In about 10 minutes walking distance, you’ll find Passeig de Gracia hosting some of the most exclusive shops in the city, beautifully located among some of Gaudi’s architectural gems.
Another must is Barri Gòtic, the oldest part of the city, oozing lots of character and charm. Next to Barri Gotic is Raval where you will find not only the MACBA museum for contemporary art but also many galleries, boutiques and restaurants. On the other side of Barri Gotic you´ll find the stylish El Born district offering fashionable shopping, young independent designers, delicatessen shops, fine restaurants and hip bars for late nights out.
Another interesting district next door is the Sant Antoni part of Eixample with the beautiful Sant Antoni market. This area has recently reinvented itself as the place to go for excellent food.
The beach and the area of Barceloneta are located on about 20 minutes walking distance through Barri Gotic.
Diagonal is a long and wide avenue that splits the Barcelona in two with palm trees running along both sides. The penthouse borders the lively Eixample area and the bohemian Gràcia district with transport links to the rest of Barcelona just a short walk away.
It is a lovely place for afternoon strolls, shopping interior design stores and dining out. Local restaurants like Chez Coco and Hisop make eating out easy. In addition, there are some cute places nearby on Passatge Lluis Pelicer.
Enric Granados street is just a short walk away and has independent art galleries, tapas bars, great restaurants and cafes. Perfect place for the summer when you feel like drinking alfresco and taking in the environment. Barcelona’s gay district, Gayxample, is also nearby. Here you will find an array of lively nightclubs, bars and restaurants.
Barcelona has an ideal climate, good for visiting year round. From May through October we have really good weather, but there are times even in November where you can be in a short sleeve top. December to February are a bit colder, but there are still lots of things to do and museums and exhibitions to see.
