How would you describe Jonkmanshof in a nutshell?
It is a haven of peace and tranquility the moment you step through the front door. It takes you back to a bygone era where life was slower and there was no rush. The houses have been taken back to what they would have been to live in in 1856 when they were built, but with all the modern amenities required.
What is the story behind Jonkmanshof, what was your inspiration to create it?
The houses were bought and renovated as country houses for private use and for the owners to get out of the city. It evolved into becoming a guesthouse as the owners only spent every 2nd weekend there.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Jonkmanshof?
The interior design reflects and honours the heritage of the houses with touches of contemporary furniture and South African art. All the modern amenities such as underfloor heating, WiFi are cleverly hidden to fit in with the design.
The atmosphere the houses create is calmness, tranquility and total relaxation.
To you personally, what is so special about Jonkmanshof?
