Casa Tulum

On the ground floor is an open-plan living area with a compact, modern kitchen and seating area. Glass doors open out onto a patio with a circular wicker lounger and views of the Caribbean Sea. 

On the top floor is the master king suite, which features a vaulted palapa roof and an outdoor shower overlooking the jungle. Another king-size bedroom can be found on the middle floor, along with a queen-size bedroom with built-in bunk beds that are ideal for kids.

All of the bedrooms feature high-quality linen while the bathrooms come with honey-based organic toiletries. In the kitchen is a Nespresso coffee maker and a blender (perfect for making Margaritas), plus a gas stove and oven. Groceries can be ordered online and delivered or we can arrange for a private chef to prepare meals for guests. 

Air-conditioning and Wi-Fi are found throughout the property and daily cleaning is provided. Guests at Casa Tulum can access the communal pool and a games room, as well as take advantage of the sea kayaks, boogie boards and stand-up paddleboards that are available. Also part of the complex is a yoga studio where classes and sound healing sessions are held. There is always staff on hand who are very helpful, so it’s easy to organise tours or make restaurant bookings.

Casa Tulum is part of a collection of six properties, which share a freeform swimming pool and other communal facilities. On the beach are sunloungers for guests to use, so it feels a bit like a private stretch of sand. There’s also a taco shack that’s open in the afternoon. It’s like staying in a private villa but with some of the comforts and perks of a boutique hotel. For example, there’s a concierge who’s available for recommendations and other guests who you can choose to interact with, or not.

It’s the perfect location for enjoying the area’s restaurants and nightlife — there are always great parties at the beach clubs. Within walking distance are some of Tulum’s most famous dining establishments, including Hartwood and Casa Jaguar.
