What is the story behind Casa Algarve, what was your inspiration to create it?

Casa Algarve is a beautiful piece of architecture that fuses artistic flair and technical precision. The creators come from the worlds of architecture and the arts and drew inspiration from a range of styles and cultures to create a unique and captivating space.

The building was inspired by the timeless beauty of post-modern architecture, as well as the sleek lines of contemporary design. The interiors are adorned with custom furnishings, works of art, and handcrafted details, giving the villa a warm and inviting atmosphere.

From the grand entrance hall to the spacious living areas, every detail has been carefully considered to create a harmonious and luxurious environment. This villa is a testament to the creativity and expertise of its designers, and it will continue to inspire generations to come.

How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Casa Algarve?

Casa Algarve is a post-modern villa and exudes a cosy atmosphere with its curated interior design. The spacious living areas are filled with warm, natural light, creating a tranquil environment. A diverse range of textures feature in the interior spaces, such as plush fabrics and smooth marble, giving them a luxurious feel. The furniture has been carefully selected to complement the overall design, with comfortable sofas, stylish armchairs, and elegant coffee tables.

The villa’s colour palette was inspired by the natural surroundings, with earthy, green and sandy hues evoking the beauty of the coastline. Unique pieces of artwork and decorative objects are placed throughout the villa, adding character and depth to the spaces. The result is a sophisticated and inviting home that offers comfort and beauty in equal measure.

Casa Algarve rooms & rates

Designed in the 1980’s by a Luso-Brazilian architect, the four-bedroom villa was fully renovated in 2021. Set across a single story, this contemporary villa boasts stunning garden and ocean views from every room. Its open floor plan allows for an abundance of natural light to flow in while highlighting the sleek and modern design elements.

All of the bedrooms are equipped with king-size beds with either a built-in, oversized headboard or padded upholstery hanging from the wall. Framing the bed are two bedside tables with task lamps, power sockets and USB ports.

All of the bedrooms have private bathrooms (three of which are ensuites) and these are definitely a feature of the house. Surrounded by such a fantastic landscape, we had no alternative but to link them with the outdoors via a fully glazed facade. They boast vertical blinds for privacy that can be opened or closed, as well as travertine-clad floors and walls. All of the bathrooms have double vanities and generous rain showers.

With panoramic views, the meticulously decorated living room and modern kitchen are ideal for pleasant evenings with family and friends. Stretching to the Ria Formosa, the private garden includes a sheltered al fresco dining area and a private swimming pool with breathtaking sights.

The location of Casa Algarve

Casa Algarve is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a region that is well known for its rich gastronomy, particularly seafood and fish. The Ria Formosa estuary is a labyrinth of canals, islands, marshland and sandy beaches that extend for 60 kilometres along the Algarve coast, between the beaches of Garrão and Manta Rota.

If you love the sun and the sea, you will encounter genuine paradise here! From west to east are the islands of Faro, Barreta, Culatra, Armona and Tavira, all of which are relatively deserted and with extensive stretches of sand.

Tavira’s coastline is over 18 kilometres long and offers fine, white sand beaches and an average water temperature of around 22 degrees Celsius. Compared to the Western Algarve, the beaches in the Eastern Algarve are less rocky.

Tavira is a charming and historic town that is famed for its picturesque beauty and relaxed atmosphere. Its location on the east coast of the Algarve, near the mouth of the Gilão River, provides a unique setting for visitors to enjoy both the coastline and the interior of the region.

The town itself is steeped in history, with its origins dating back to the Roman era. Its rich cultural heritage is evident in its beautiful architecture and monuments. Tavira is also known for its many lovely beaches, including Praia do Barril, Praia de Ilha de Tavira, and Praia da Terra Estreita, which offer a range of activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.

Overall, Tavira is a special destination that combines natural beauty, cultural richness, and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, making it the perfect place to experience the best of the Algarve.

When is the best time to visit Algarve?

The good thing about the Algarve is that you can enjoy beautifully warm weather for around eight months of the year from mid-March to mid-November. Ria Formosa Natural Park is located on the Atlantic coast but its microclimate is considered Mediterranean, characterised by warm, dry summers and moderate winters. Having said that, the high season is still from June to September.
