Country House Villadorata is a charming, small boutique hotel in Sicily between the Baroque city of Noto and the coast offering a timeless oasis of peace immersed in the beautiful countryside of Val-di-Noto appointed with country-chic furnishings and all modern comforts.

What was your inspiration to renovate the house and open another small boutique hotel?

The careful restoration of the building was based on the idea of keeping the captivating spirit of old-world Patrician Sicily, paying special attention to its landscaping and using modern and natural materials.

How would you describe the atmosphere at the Country House Villadorata?

Our aim is to offer each vacation guest a unique, genuine and unforgettable experience, immersed in the unparalleled beauty of nature.

Long, peaceful silences, interrupted only by the delicate sounds of nature with exquisite panoramas of a thousand colours of Sicily.

What has been the biggest reward running Seven Rooms and opening Country House Villadorata?

Our biggest reward is that our vacation guests become part of our family so when they come back and they have told their friends about us, then our family becomes bigger and bigger: it’s like meeting relatives who live far away.

The hotel consists of three separate residences: the Palmento Residence, which began as a nineteenth-century olive mill, in the main courtyard facing the main swimming pool has 3 deluxe rooms and a superior room accesible from the back, the Bouganville Residence about 95 meters away has 4 deluxe rooms, and the Olive Residence, which a standalone private suite with its own swimming pool at about 170 metres from the main courtyard.

All rooms of our small hotel have a private terrace or veranda and we have chosen furnishings that blend the warmth of the tradition with the clean lines of contemporary.

My favourite is the ‘Ulivo’ suite for its romantic privacy!

    Each of the 4 rooms feature a beautifully decorated double room, a private bathroom and a private veranda with views of the garden and the surrounding hills graced with Mediterranean vegetation.

We have beautiful beaches in this part of Sicily. The Reserve of Vendicari (15km) has beautiful sandy beaches and the chance to watch migratory birds; San Lorenzo has a beautiful long beach and crystal blue water. My favorite would be Playa Carratois near Isola delle Correnti (33km), it’s savage but comfortable!

And the whole area is full of unique sites; Noto, the pearl of Sicilian baroque; Syracuse, the old capital of Sicily full of art, history and myths; Marzamemi, an old fishing village; Modica, the gem of the Iblei Mountains; Ragusa Ibla, with buildings and monuments of late Baroque style.

This is really a great place. We were in the Olive suite and it was paradise: a very tastefully decorated suite, with a private pool, and surrounded by terraces overlooking the property. Extremely calm in the middle of olive trees.

The breakfast is one of the best we ever had, with a special mention for the pastries, and the restaurant is excellent. Friendly, welcoming and professional staff. Last but not least: perfectly situated to visit this beautiful part of Sicily.

Country House Villadorata is located only 4 km from the Baroque city of Noto in the enchanting countryside of southeastern Sicily in a protected area surrounded by beautiful organic farms. Our boutique hotel lies on 18 acres, amidst olive, almond and citrus trees, and organic vineyards, all cultivated in full respect to nature. The sandy beaches at the Vendicary Natural Reserve are only 20 minutes away.

Here you can experience the tranquil and poetic atmosphere of times gone by, where every corner has a special story to tell. The diversity of the food, the history, and the natural landscape make it very special.

When is the best time to visit Sicily?

Spring with its explosion of colours and fragrances and the orange blossom is ideal for a vacation; Summer when everything turns yellow and the concerto of crickets and cicadas starts; Fall when harvest is a feast; Winter with its silence and February when the almond-trees start to blossom.
