An introduction to Farnhaus

How ​​would you describe Farnhaus in a nutshell?

Our Farnhaus is located a little above Dorf Tirol in South Tyrol in the middle of nature and offers a gigantic view of the Merano valley.

What is the story behind Farnhaus, what was your inspiration to create it?

The Farnhaus is my husband’s parents’ house, which was built many years ago on a meadow full of ferns.

How ​​would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Farnhaus?

The Farnhaus was renovated in the winter of 2021/22 and the apartments are now designed the way we want them to be on holiday: bright, quiet, practical and at the same time refined and clear.

In front of the fern house, we have a meadow, which is now being planted with ferns and grasses again. The green colour runs through the inside as well. The apartments are on the ground floor.

What facilities and amenities are available to the guests (included or on request)?

We offer our guests high-quality bed linen, towels, cosmetic products from South Tyrol, as well as a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator, kettle and coffee maker.

A gigantic view, a private terrace and two new and stylish apartments. Where once there was a large meadow with ferns, our ‘farnhaus’ now stands in the midst of nature, in a quiet location and yet easy to reach. The entire Adige Valley stretches out in front of us, a spectacle at any time of the day or night, and Meran and Tyrol Castle lie at our feet. A perfect starting point for hikes and beautiful walks.

The location of Farnhaus

The Farnhaus is located on a hill above the city of Meran, which can be reached in about 10 minutes. The view extends from the Passeier Valley on the left, across the Adige Valley and the Meraner Talkassel straight ahead to the Vinschgau Valley on the right.

When is the best time to visit South Tyrol?

It's always nice here ;) In spring when nature blossoms and awakens, in summer for hiking, in autumn for the harvest and in winter to enjoy the snowy landscape.
