How would you describe Galatone Apartment in a nutshell?
Galatone Apartment captures the authentic charm of Apulian life, blending historic character with modern comfort. The generous rooftop terrace offers sweeping views over the charming town of Galatone.
What is the story behind Galatone Apartment? What was your inspiration to buy and rent it?
As with our countryside house, it was a happy coincidence. We came across the apartment through a newsletter and were immediately intrigued, not least because of its excellent reviews. We have always loved Apulia, and with this city residence, we hope to offer a stay that caters to a different side of the region, one rooted in village life.
To you personally, what is so special about Galatone Apartment?
There is something quite unique about living here — it feels almost like being part of a historical stage. And once you have had your morning coffee on the rooftop, it is hard to imagine leaving.
The apartment is located on the first floor of a historic palazzo in the heart of Galatone, directly adjoining the 17th-century church of San Giovanni Battista.
You enter into a calm arrival space with a daybed and books, a place to slow down straight away. From here, you reach the bedroom with its en-suite bathroom.
To the left is the dining area with a kitchen and a second bathroom. Above, a mezzanine level offers an additional cosy sleeping space, accessible via a ladder.
Opposite the kitchen is the living room, centred around a generous four-metre sofa, perfect for unwinding. Two balconies extend the space outdoors, one of them offering a striking view of the church’s façade.
At the top of the historic staircase, the 70 sqm rooftop terrace awaits — a true highlight, with open views and plenty of sun throughout the day.

We are still discovering new places ourselves and are always happy to share our personal recommendations with guests ahead of their stay.
Some of our highlights include: – Dinner at Petricore in Nardò – Visiting the local food market in Galatone on Saturday mornings – Watching the sunset from the rooftop terrace – Breakfast at La Santa in Santa Caterina overlooking the sea

Galatone feels like a hidden gem, authentic, relaxed and still largely untouched by mass tourism.
May and September are often considered the ideal months to visit Puglia, with pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds. That said, the apartment is designed for year-round stays, with central heating and all the comforts needed for every season.
