A place to live and breathe true Apulian tradition.
How would you describe Il Trullo in a nutshell?
Il Trullo is a place to live and breathe true Apulian tradition, immersed in the tranquillity of nature and peace.
What is the story behind Il Trullo, what was your inspiration to create it?
This trullo began as a humble family home for wine-producing farmers, who built it using stones from the surrounding area. Our idea has always been to preserve this piece of history which has so much value.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Il Trullo?
Il Trullo is a traditional trullo that has retained its ancestral spirit. After careful and meticulous restoration work, it has been given new life within a historic country setting but with all the comforts of a modern home.
The design is deliberately minimal and clean. The furnishings are original pieces of Apulian use — inside you will find old grain sieves, antique tables and peasant furnishings that help to maintain the property’s Apulian soul.
To you personally, what is so special about Il Trullo?
This ancient trullo (dating back to the early 19th century) has retained its original spirit. We wanted to preserve its true nature as a country house as much as possible.
Guests at Il Trullo arrive at the main trullo, which has been restored with care and attention. At its entrance, you will find a kitchenette and dining area furnished with everything you need and surrounded by stones that offer ancient warmth.
Next to the dining area is a guest bathroom built into a small trullo and equipped with all amenities, including a shower. Continuing through the corridor, you will arrive in the relaxation area where you’ll find a comfortable sofa, armchairs, a TV and a wood-burning fireplace.
From this room, you can reach the bright master bedroom, which features a 160 x 200 cm bed and an ensuite bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower. It also enjoys privileged access to the outdoor garden with its sofas and heated outdoor shower.
The second bedroom (accessed from the living room) is located next to the master, also with a 160 x 200 cm bed that can be transformed into twin beds if necessary. Each room has a vaulted ceiling and is equipped with air conditioning, mosquito nets and built-in wardrobes.
Il Trullo is set within almost five acres of Apulian “campagna”, land cultivated with olive and fruit trees. Part of this land contains a large, covered outdoor kitchen of 40 square metres, equipped with a gas stove, an electric oven, a barbecue and a comfortable wooden table for eight people. There are also relaxation areas with sofas, armchairs, a hammock and a swing. A large masonry sofa is located next to the swimming pool where you can enjoy an aperitif at sunset.
