How would you describe Spatia Comporta in a nutshell?
Spatia is an understated small luxury hotel in Comporta. Being nestled among sand and pine trees really creates a sense of relaxation and freedom.
What’s the story behind Spatia Comporta and what was the inspiration to open it?
The land was already owned by the family for several years together with other plots near the beach. There was always an idea of developing something like a resort, but also with a place where people could live. This is the reason why we have some plots inside the 30 ha property that are privately owned. We never wanted to be a big resort, so we started with 10 rooms, a club area and some villas and are now expanding to a total of 20 rooms.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of Spatia Comporta?
We’ve tried to combine traditional materials with the clean lines of the architecture and furniture in order to allow you to enjoy the space. Wood has a clear presence in all areas, almost like in a gazebo. Also, the smell of the wood really soothes the senses each time you enter a room or villa or even our Club House. The high wooden ceilings are complemented by quiet courtyards and outdoor seating.
To you personally, what is so special about Spatia Comporta?
The space, the privacy, the smell of the pine trees and the feeling of the sea breeze. The sense of freedom and to know that I´m going to experience top-notch service but without being pushy or posh. And the amazing breakfast and local food at the restaurant!
Is Spatia Comporta best suited for couples, families, groups? What’s your policy on kids?
We suggest families with small children take the villas for comfort and privacy, and the rooms for couples without children.
