Ottmanngut is a charming small boutique hotel that lies nestled in an enchanting Mediterranean garden with beautiful views of the Alpine mountain tops.
What is the story behind VillaVerde, what was your inspiration to create it?
The plot of land on which VillaVerde stands today has been in our grandfather's possession since the late 1990s. There was already a hotel at that time as an addition to the over 100-year-old Art Nouveau villa. In 2015, as a family of 3 generations, we decided to build something of our own. The former hotel was torn down, but we wanted to preserve the old Villa Lemberg and bring its charm back to life.
Back when we were kids we used to go to Tuscany and rent an apartment. In the evenings, we would either go out to eat or cook for ourselves — this flexibility was really important to us. That’s where the idea of VillaVerde as an aparthotel was born. We wanted to create a home for individualists who like to determine their own happiness.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of VillaVerde?
The atmosphere at VillaVerde is definitely easygoing. Everyone can go their own way. We offer our guests peace and relaxation in a beautiful setting.
The main goal was to create a stylish connection from the past to the present. Each place exudes its own individual charm: the coffee house, the fireside lounge, the villa, the veranda, the terrace and, of course, the apartments.
Our mother always liked to go to flea markets and antique markets so we went in search of unique accents from northern Italy to Paris. With the treasures that we found, we wanted to create a holiday home where nothing is off-the-shelf.
To you personally, what makes VillaVerde so special?
The luxury and the amenities of a 4* hotel in combination with the freedom of apartments. But above all, the people behind VillaVerde. Everyone here works to make our guests feel at home from the very first moment and to make their stay at VillaVerde an unforgettable one.
Is Villaverde primarily for adults or are children of all ages welcome?
At VillaVerde we have deliberately created a lot of space to rest. We are a place for those seeking tranquillity and quietness. But there is also room for families who support us in our concept. However, you won't find animation programs and playrooms here. But what we do have: is a great adventure playground for young and old in the middle of Algund, the best excursion tips for families and the most delicious fluffy pancakes and waffles for breakfast.
