An introduction to Casale Oleo

How would you describe Casale Oleo in a nutshell?

Casale Oleo is a carefully curated agriturismo in the heart of Maremma, offering guests the chance to slow down amidst nature, silence, and breathtaking views. It’s a place to savour exceptional food and wine, and immerse yourself in the authenticity of this land through thoughtfully crafted experiences.

What is the story behind Casale Oleo? What inspired you to create it?

Casale Oleo was born from a desire to bring our family together after years of living apart, in a place we proudly call home. Our dream has always been to share our passion for this land, nature, wellness, and gastronomy with others — in a simple, heartfelt, and genuine way.

We’re a brand-new venture, having opened our doors on April 4th, 2025. From day one, we’ve welcomed guests with warmth, care, and genuine passion, creating a place where comfort and attention to detail come together to offer an authentic and memorable experience.

How would you describe the atmosphere and interior design of Casale Oleo?

We genuinely believe that Casale Oleo offers a peaceful escape. The vibrant colours of the landscape, particularly at sunset, create a magical atmosphere, while the gentle sounds of wind and birds nourish the soul. The interiors have been carefully curated by local artisans, blending natural materials and bespoke furnishings to create spaces that feel warm, intimate, and timeless.

Who were the architect and interior designer behind the project?

The environmental redevelopment and architectural restoration were overseen by Archigroups studio, based in Grosseto, led by architects Luca Perin, Emma Siccardi, and Vincenzo Gabriele. Vincenzo Gabriele, as a professional interior designer, guided the project with vision and precision. At the same time, we — Monica Minola and Guido Serafini — were deeply involved, carefully selecting materials, collaborating with local artisans, and shaping custom furnishings to reflect the spirit and soul of the place.

What’s your policy on children?

All children, of any age, are warmly welcome at Casale Oleo. We simply ask for kindness and respect toward other guests, the rooms, and the natural surroundings — so everyone can enjoy the peaceful, welcoming atmosphere we’ve lovingly created.

To you personally, what makes Casale Oleo so special?

What sets Casale Oleo apart is its unique 360-degree view over the Maremma — from Monte Amiata to the Argentario coastline, including Talamone and the islands of Giglio and Elba. Our restaurant elevates the art of grilling, using outstanding techniques and seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. And the attention to detail is present in everything, from the design to the services, breakfast, and personalised experiences we offer.

Things to do in Tuscany & Magliano in Toscana

  • Art / Culture
  • Wine tastings
  • Hiking
  • Cycling
  • Horseback riding

We offer food and wine tastings guided by our refined restaurant team and two passionate in-house sommeliers, showcasing the region’s best labels and flavours. We also organise visits to selected partner wineries and provide bike rentals for exploring the countryside. The nearest beach, Talamone, is just 20 minutes away by car. We assist our guests with reservations at Bagno delle Donne, while the stunning Cala Violina, a hidden gem in the Maremma Regional Park, can be reached via a scenic 8 km hike from the park’s entrance. If you’re lucky, you might even spot foxes on the beach.

We always suggest a stroll along the medieval walls of Magliano in Toscana, pausing for a glass of wine or a pinsa in its intimate piazza. A walk or bike ride through the Maremma Regional Park is also a must to admire the incredible nature, sea views, and local wildlife. And we highly recommend visiting Frantoio Franci — one of the finest olive oil producers in the world — to taste their award-winning oils and hear the fascinating story behind them.

The location of Casale Oleo

Casale Oleo rests on a hilltop, embraced by three hectares of olive trees, with sweeping views stretching over the Maremma. It’s just two kilometres of white road from the charming village of Montiano, 15 minutes from Magliano in Toscana, and 20 minutes from the sea at Talamone.

We fell in love with Maremma for its wild, powerful, and peaceful nature — a world away from the noise of city life. The incredible quality of local ingredients and wine, combined with the warmth and simplicity of the people, make this land truly special.

When is the best time to visit Tuscany?

Summer invites you to enjoy the coast and beaches, while even winter holds its own magic for the more adventurous, with unforgettable food and wine experiences available year-round.
