How would you describe Jardins Secrets in a nutshell?
Jardins Secrets in Nîmes, Languedoc-Roussillon, France, is a boutique hotel of impeccable French taste. An elegant country house in the city with marble washbasins, canopy beds, and exquisite antiques. The style is opulent, all the while wildly romantic, a perfect example of the art of French living. The hotel has a swimming pool, a spa, and beautiful gardens with lemon and orange trees, palm trees and flowers.
What was the inspiration to open Jardins Secrets?
Back then we were traveling around the world — seeing a lot of beautiful places and our passion for design inspired us to open our own property.
The rooms are all elegantly styled. Where is your passion for design coming from?
When I met my husband we were both working as journalists and photographers for design magazines. With Jardins Secrets we can now really explore our passion for beautiful things and the 18th century.
How would you describe the style of the interior?
Most of our furniture and decorations at Jardins Secrets are from the 18th century, so I would say elegant, stylish and quite romantic.

Nîmes has 3 famous monuments from Roman antiquity: Les Arènes, La Maison carrée and Magne Tower. Besides these, the most important site to to visit is Le Pont du Gard, which is a well-preserved aqueduct that used to carry water across the small Gardon river valley.
Nîmes also has a Spanish flair – the Spanish legacy are the bullfights, Féria and the Bodégas or wineries. And obviously there is some influence in the food too.
The best time to come for a visit to Jardins Secrets is May and September when the weather is nice there aren't too many people around.
