How would you describe La Bastide de Moustiers in a nutshell?
La Bastide de Moustiers is Alain Ducasse’s first country hotel nestled at the entrance of the Gorges du Verdon in Provence, France. Strolling in the park, plunging in the swimming-pool, lazing in a hammock, tasting the vegetables from the garden are simple pleasure of life making this Inn a place where time seems to stop.
Please tell us how the country hotel idea started.
A resident of the French Riviera for more than fifteen years, Alain Ducasse discovered the Alpes de Haute-Provence on long motorbike rides and fell in love with Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and its outstandingly beautiful countryside.
In 1995, he started looking for a property where, on one hand, he could stay when out on his motorbike rides and, on the other hand, enable him to welcome those who might be looking for a holiday in a little corner of paradise a long way from the urban hubbub.
