Villa Aleomandra
Villa Aleomandra is a luxury villa on Mykonos, Greece with a private beach. Set amongst a Mediterranean garden, this oasis is a short walk from Mykonos Town and the restaurants of Ornos.
The vibe at the house is very relaxing and rare to find in Mykonos.
How would you describe Mirsini Villa in a nutshell?
Mirsini Villa is a very traditional, simply decorated house in the old part of Mykonos, with amazing views and a super relaxing vibe. It can accommodate a lot of people but there are plenty of places where you can find your own space to relax.
What is the story behind Mirsini Villa, what was your inspiration to create it?
Mirsini villa was built with a lot of love as a house for us to use. It was very carefully thought out with families in mind. Lots of places for people to hang out together, but also lots of places for people to chill out on their own if they want to get away from the larger group. There are privacy spots for everyone and a place they can go to relax.
As it’s a house I use myself and with my friends, it’s not a place I want to rent for partying groups. I want to know that whoever is going to stay will look after it.
How would you describe the atmosphere and interior design of Mirsini Villa?
The atmosphere at Mirsini Villa is extremely calming and relaxed. Even if it’s super windy outside, it still feels very calm inside the house.
We designed the interior with a friend of ours and wanted to keep things simple. All of the beds are stone-built and there is very little furniture. It’s traditional, easy on the eyes, simple.
To you personally, what is so special about Mirsini Villa?
It’s special to me because I built it. When you see the fruits of your labour, it’s very different from when you buy something that’s already complete. I also think the view is absolutely incredible, with mountains and water surrounding you. It’s not like the newer parts of Mykonos with houses right next to each other — there are very few houses nearby.
Mirsini Villa is built on a hill, so it’s like there are two ground levels. It’s set across two buildings that aren’t physically connected, although they appear to be.
From the parking area, you walk into an open-plan living and dining area, which has a fully-equipped kitchen plus a secondary kitchen in the back. The main kitchen has a table that seats eight where we usually have breakfast. This leads to a big outdoor dining table that comfortably seats 12 and a barbecue area that is completely wind protected. Even if it’s blowing strongly and hailing on the other side of the property, it’s calm there.
In the same building is the master bedroom, which has a view of the swimming pool and the sea. Outside is a large outdoor lounge space with a bar. Above the kitchen is an independent queen bedroom with an outside seating area and TV. It has the best views!
Behind the outdoor bar is the second building, which has a kids' room with bunk beds, another room with two single beds and a master bedroom with a couch that can be used to sleep another person. If you go down a level, there are three more bedrooms, all of which have sea views and queen beds (two also have additional single beds). All of the bedrooms in Mirsini Villa have ensuite bathrooms.

We have a manager who comes each day to take out the rubbish and do any necessary tidying up. He can also do laundry if needed. On request, he can prepare breakfast or go to the supermarket to pick up groceries for guests.
We can also bring in chefs to cook meals in the evenings and we have a network of masseuses and fitness instructors that can come to the villa. If you don’t want to drive, we can put you in touch with drivers, as well as boat operators for island hopping.
While we can assist with some bookings and recommendations, we don’t provide a 24/7 concierge service during stays.
There’s a great sailboating trip that visits different islands and the owner does amazing seafood feasts on the beach. Mirsini Villa is also just five minutes’ drive from two of the most beautiful beaches on Mykonos. These are traditional beaches that don’t have sunbeds or loud music and one has a very nice old taverna.
You can go walking or mountain biking in the surrounding hills (my father bikes every day), as well as kite surfing, windsurfing and scuba diving. That being said, many guests just stay at the villa and relax.
Mirsini Villa is around 15/20 minutes’ drive from Mykonos Airport and the same distance from the main town of Chora where you’ll find lots of restaurants. The port is also around 20 minutes away while the closest supermarket is just 10 minutes by car. We are on the northeast side of Mykonos, close to the famous beach bar of Alemagou, and guests definitely need a car to get around.
I personally like the wildness and the traditional feeling of this part of Mykonos. It’s not crowded and is still naturally beautiful — it’s how Mykonos used to be.
Summer is the best time to visit, with July and August the busiest months. It’s less crowded in June and September but the days are shorter, although the sea is at its warmest in September. May is a beautiful time to come with all of the wildflowers in bloom but the sea is much cooler. That being said, the air temperature is still warm enough that you can lie on the beach and sunbathe. We are open all year.
