How would you describe The Joya in a nutshell?
The Joya is a true sanctuary for those seeking both privacy and togetherness in a luxurious yet inviting setting. Designed for large groups, it offers multiple living areas that can be connected or closed off as desired, making it highly flexible. The name "Joya"—meaning "jewel" in Spanish — was inspired by the villa’s breathtaking outdoor naya, a stunning 14x3m covered terrace, as well as the incredible views and the magnificent ancient tree beside the pool.
What is the story behind The Joya? What was your inspiration to create it?
At The June Boutiques, we are passionate about crafting unique, inspiring spaces where guests can experience a true sense of calm and connection. Every one of our boutique villas is designed to offer high-end comfort while maintaining a distinctive character. The Joya, in particular, was envisioned as a place where families and groups can come together in a meaningful way.
As a large family ourselves, we understand the magic of spending holidays together while also valuing the importance of personal space. That’s why The Joya features three separate living areas, which can be merged or kept private as needed. It’s also a dream setting for weddings, photo shoots, or special gatherings. And for even larger groups, The Joya can be combined with our neighboring villa, The June, allowing up to 22 guests to stay in one exclusive retreat.
How would you describe the atmosphere and interior design of The Joya?
The Joya radiates warmth, tranquility, and character. Earthy tones set a natural, grounding ambiance, while carefully curated vintage pieces add soul and personality to the space. Every detail is chosen to create a sense of harmony, from the soft textures of linen fabrics to the presence of handcrafted decor. A signature element in all our homes is the gong, which symbolizes balance and serenity. It sets the tone for relaxation and mindful living, encouraging guests to truly unwind and embrace the slower rhythm of The Joya’s surroundings.
To you personally, what is so special about The Joya?
The Joya is a place where the old and the new come together in harmony. Its authentic Spanish charm is preserved in the villa’s architecture and lush gardens, which feel both peaceful and alive. But what truly makes The Joya stand out is its versatility. Whether you’re gathering with family, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for a retreat to reconnect with nature and yourself, the space adapts to your needs. With its wellness features, serene outdoor spaces, and thoughtful design, The Joya is more than just a villa — it’s an experience.
What’s your policy on children?
Children are more than welcome at The Joya! That said, we always advise parents to keep a close eye on little ones, as there are a few things to be mindful of:
If you’re traveling with children, we recommend taking extra precautions to ensure a fun and safe stay.

Indoor Amenities & Services:
The closest beach, La Fustera, is just an eight-minute walk from the villa. It’s small and cozy, with clear water and a laid-back vibe, making it our personal favorite — especially in the mornings when it’s still quiet, and you can have the place almost to yourself. The area is full of hidden bays to discover, such as Cala Pinets, Cala de la Llobella, and Cala Advocat, which remain peaceful even in the middle of summer. Other highlights include Montesanco Wine Bar & Winery, where guests can enjoy relaxed wine tastings in a beautiful setting; boat or kayak rentals along the coast to explore hidden beaches and sea caves; and the coastal walk from La Fustera to Calpe, which offers breathtaking cliffside views and is a perfect way to start the day.
The Joya is tucked away in La Fustera Valley, a peaceful and green area that feels like a hidden gem. From the house, you get beautiful views of both the sea and the rolling valley, making it the perfect place to unwind. La Fustera Beach is just an eight-minute walk away, ideal for a morning swim or an evening stroll along the shore. The charming coastal town of Moraira, known for its boutique shops and excellent restaurants, is only a ten-minute drive away and well worth a visit. For those interested in a day trip, Valencia and Alicante are both about an hour away, offering a mix of big-city energy, history, and culture. A quieter alternative is Altea, a stunning old town perched on a hill, with whitewashed streets, hidden courtyards, and little cafés where you can sit for hours — one of those magical places that never loses its charm.
Mandala Beach Bar is located right on La Fustera Beach, just a short walk away. It’s not a fancy spot, but the friendly staff, great food, and stunning sea views make it a perfect place to grab a relaxed meal or a drink at sunset. For groceries, there’s a supermarket just a 5-minute walk from The Joya, so it’s easy to pick up fresh ingredients for a home-cooked meal or a BBQ by the pool.
There is never a bad time to visit The Joya — it all depends on what you’re looking for. Winters are mild, with golden sunsets and fresh avocados and limes to pick straight from the trees. Spring and autumn are filled with blooming flowers and pleasant temperatures, perfect for outdoor activities without the summer crowds. Summer is pure Mediterranean magic, with long sunny days, late-night boulevard strolls, and a vibrant holiday atmosphere. Each season has its own unique charm, making The Joya a year-round destination.
