How would you describe The June in a nutshell?
The June embraces guests with a sense of belonging, regardless of how far away from their everyday home they are. The villa strikes a unique balance between offering a luxurious experience that guests truly deserve and creating an atmosphere that’s all about comfort and ease. A sense of ultimate relaxation is found everywhere. Guests can simply unwind, soak up the sun, listen to the soft ocean breezes and let go of all their worries.
What is the story behind The June, what was your inspiration to buy it?
The roots of The June can be traced back to two young Dutch creatives who always dreamed of extending their horizons to the sunny side of Europe. After a year of renovating, designing and creating, The June was born. It’s a one-of-a-kind hideaway that cherishes the original charm of the villa.
Fast-forward to 2023 and the care of The June was entrusted to our family of six. We are a Dutch couple, accompanied by our four daughters and our beloved Big Swiss mountain dog, Moos. We have a shared purpose of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests and enabling them to make memories that will last a lifetime.
The joyous expressions on our guests’ faces, combined with a consistent demand to experience The June firsthand, has directed our path forward.
How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of The June?
The June stands for a looser kind of luxury, with earthy tones and natural shapes. The villa’s ambiance is all about creating a cozy and unforgettable vibe. You’ll find a harmonious blend of handcrafted Moroccan rugs, Italian design pieces and outdoor furniture made from recycled materials, as well as eye-catching elements inspired by Pierre Jeanneret and Faye Toogood.
To you personally, what is so special about The June?
What really stands out about The June is how every little detail seems to come together in the most natural way. It's not just about the villa and the garden – it's those subtle height differences that give the place a unique character. And then there's the outdoor kitchen and lounge area, designed in a way that just makes you feel at home. It's like everything was put together to create this warm and comfortable vibe that fits perfectly.
The June is divided into three quarters, each with a separate entrance. On the first floor is the Fustera Apartment, which is the most spacious apartment, with a generously sized dining area, a SMEG-equipped kitchen and a charming living room. Of its three bedrooms, the master bedroom steals the show, with an ensuite bathroom and direct access to a private outdoor terrace — the perfect spot to unwind in the afternoon. The remaining bedrooms offer the flexibility of movable twin beds and share a second bathroom. In addition, the apartment has a covered terrace, which provides an escape from the sun’s brightest hours.
On the ground floor is The Advocat, a luxurious, one-bedroom apartment. It features a SMEG-equipped kitchen, a private bathroom and a comfortable living room, plus a dining area and an outdoor terrace. Upon request, this apartment can be connected to the Baladrar suite, forming an intimate two-bedroom, two-bathroom hideaway.
The Baladrar suite is a luxurious room with an ensuite bathroom and a private terrace, with the possibility of transforming its couch into an extra bed. In total, the property can welcome a maximum of 10 to 12 guests.
Among the outdoor spaces are a rooftop terrace that offers panoramic views, an alfresco cooking and dining area that invites memorable gatherings and a communal pool deck for those after-dinner dips. The covered outdoor BBQ area is where the magic happens. It’s the perfect spot for sunrise breakfasts, intimate dinners and private dining with some of our favorite chefs.

We are here for our guests 24/7, ready to help them connect with local chefs, masseuses or transport facilities. The villa also offers private paddle boards, portable beach chairs and umbrellas for beach trips.
The nearest beach is just five minutes’ walk from The June. For those who enjoy a longer stroll, there’s an idyllic coastal trail that leads all the way to Calpe. It takes you through an impressive Mediterranean landscape with unique botanical plants and vibrant flowers. The shade provided by the trees makes this journey pleasant, even during the warm summer months. The sea views are just incredible and you’ll soak in that authentic Mediterranean charm.
For a bit of beachside fun, guests can grab our stand-up paddle boards and hit the waves. And if you’re in the mood for exploration, the nearby valley is an absolute must-see. There’s something special for all types of adventurers.
There is so much to discover. In Benissa, you’ll find various shops and supermarkets, plus a charming town centre. Don’t miss the Sunday morning market where you can grab fresh vegetables, fruits and local products. For sports enthusiasts, there are plenty of options for playing golf in the region.
Other places along the Costa Blanca include Moraira (8.5 km), where you’ll find lots of restaurants, bars and shops, or Altea (16.5 km), a charming fishing village with a cosy harbor and narrow streets. You can wander up the hill to discover Altea’s local boutiques or treat yourself to some amazing French pastries. Altea also offers several beaches and a pleasant promenade with cafes and restaurants.
Alternatively, you can make the short drive to the seaside town of Dénia (33 km) or explore the historic centre of Javea (20km). If you prefer to visit larger cities, Alicante (69 km) and Valencia (121 km) are easily accessible.
The June is located in Benissa and offers incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea and the colorful valley of La Fustera. Only 700 metres away (a five-minute walk) is La Fustera Beach, as well as a local supermarket and the Mandela Beach Bar.
When travelling to The June, guests have a couple of options. If you’re flying in, you can land at Valencia (about 130km away) or Alicante (about 70km away), with both airports around one to one and half hours’ drive from the property. If you find yourself in need of supplies, it’s just a five-minute drive to the large supermarket in Calpe. And while you’re there, we recommend enjoying the beach or strolling along the boulevard.
Benissa is not a large town but it welcomes a fair amount of visitors during the summer months. While summers here are truly fantastic, I wouldn’t overlook the other seasons. Fall, spring and winter all have their unique charms. With our heated swimming pool and outdoor spaces, gas fireplace and cosy interiors (coupled with the area’s mild temperatures), we dare to say “It’s always June in Benissa”.
