The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse is a beautiful vacation rental with four bedrooms in Umbria, set among tranquil olives, grapes and rolling barley fields. It has a very modern feel and aesthetic to it.
You hear the gentle bustle of daily life in the piazza, yet you’re tucked away up high, enjoying privacy and beautiful views.
Casa Vedetta
Casa Vedetta is a carefully restored medieval watch structure set within the village walls, retaining original terracotta floors and a travertine fireplace alongside modern comforts.
The private terrace, shaded by a jasmine-covered pergola, is an idyllic spot for breakfast or dinner with views stretching across the Umbrian hills toward Todi.
Guests are immersed in authentic Italian village life, with the piazza, a trattoria and a pizzeria all within a five-minute walk.
Access to the apartment is via a private gate and a large spiral staircase, which may not suit guests with limited mobility.
The terrace is best enjoyed from spring through autumn; the property is well-placed for the grape and olive harvests in October.
How would you describe Casa Vedetta in a nutshell?
Casa Vedetta occupies an entire floor of a medieval structure set directly along the village walls. Staying here feels like living inside an Italian village: you can walk to the piazza for a caffè or a spritz, stop by the small shop next door, and wander through tiny streets that open up to beautiful views over the surrounding landscape.
What is the story behind Casa Vedetta, and what inspired you to create it?
Casa Vedetta was originally a medieval watch structure. Over the centuries, it became part of the town hall and later served as the village nursery school. We had admired the building for many years, so when it finally came up for sale, we didn’t hesitate. Today, it has been fully restored with great care and respect for its history.
How would you describe the atmosphere and interior design of Casa Vedetta?
Original terracotta floors and a travertine fireplace give Casa Vedetta its historic soul, while modern comforts bring it firmly into the present. A fully equipped contemporary kitchen, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, cement tiles, and Italian lighting create a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Vintage tables and chairs sourced from local markets add warmth and character. The design language and quality of fixtures mirror that of our nearby properties.
What is especially meaningful to you about Casa Vedetta?
What I love most is being literally within the town walls. You hear the church bells and the gentle bustle of daily life in the piazza, yet you’re tucked away up high, enjoying privacy and beautiful views. The village’s excellent trattoria and pizzeria are just a five-minute walk away.
You enter through a private gate that leads up to your own terrace — a wonderful spot for breakfast or dinner from spring through autumn, shaded by a jasmine-covered pergola. A large spiral staircase takes you up to the apartment level, where the living spaces unfold as one generous open-plan area with an eat-in kitchen, a living room with fireplace, and a small desk area.
Off the living space is a queen-bedded bedroom with a private bathroom. On the opposite side, you’ll find a laundry room, another private bathroom, and a twin-bedded bedroom. The queen bedroom looks out over the Umbrian hills with Todivisible in the distance, while the twin room overlooks village rooftops and the wild hills beyond.
Guests can arrange experiences such as a private chef, cooking lessons, bike tours, or truffle hunting. We also offer organic wine tastings at our winery, just ten minutes away.
Casa Vedetta is fully air-conditioned, with retractable mosquito screens on all windows. Additional amenities include a washer and dryer, an espresso and cappuccino machine, and a large terrace with pergola, dining for four, and lounge chairs.
A visit to Assisi and its Basilica of St. Francis is essential. Montefalco is known for its remarkable museum with 14th-century frescoes, while Todi is another highlight, home to the striking Church of San Fortunato, with its white travertine façade and alabaster windows.
Casa Vedetta is located in the heart of Umbria, about 30 minutes from Montefalco and Perugia, and 20 minutes from Todi. It sits on a small piazza within our charming village.
Spring is especially beautiful, with poppies in the fields and wisteria in bloom. Summer is slow-paced and festive, with village feasts and long communal dinners. Autumn coincides with the grape and olive harvest, making it a wonderful time for wine and olive oil tastings, especially from October onward.
