Platanos Villa
Overlooking the undeveloped west coast of Crete, Platanos Villa is a stone-built oasis blending into the surrounding mountains. It features four bedrooms, outdoor lounging areas and an infinity pool.
The atmosphere is so relaxing because of the calming views across the Sea of Crete.
Elounda Villa
Beautiful beachfront villa with stunning sea views and only a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants.
How would you describe Elounda Villa in a nutshell?
Elounda Villa is a stunning beachfront property that emphasises good design and architecture to create unique client experiences.
What is the story behind Elounda Villa, what was your inspiration to create it?
The land on which the villa is built was owned by our grandparents for the last hundred years or so. So it is a very personal project in honour of our grandparents.
As brothers, our vision was to create something completely unique with an emphasis on customer service. We believe that the most effective way of ensuring our guests have a memorable holiday is through the combination of good design and service.
The villa has been designed so that guests can enjoy privacy while also having communal areas in which to congregate. In accordance with Greek regulations, we also have facilities for guests with limited mobility, such as big doors that facilitate wheelchairs.
How would you describe the atmosphere and interior design of Elounda Villa?
Relaxing because of the calming views across the Sea of Crete.
To you personally, what is so special about Elounda Villa?
Two things — service and design. It’s also the really small touches that make a difference for guests, such as the high-end materials that are used throughout the villa.
Elounda Villa has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, with four of these being ensuite. On the ground floor is one of the bedrooms (which is well-equipped for guests with limited mobility), as well as the main kitchen and a living space. This connects to an outdoor dining area and the swimming pool.
On the second floor is another bedroom with its own living room, kitchen and balcony, with this space being self-contained. There are also three more bedrooms (two with sea views and one with garden views) and these all have access to a small kitchen. Surrounding the villa is a garden and there is a private parking area with room for three cars. The villa also boasts an outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi.
Every bedroom has a hairdryer, slippers, bathrobes, and a safety box, as well as toiletries and towels. If clients send us a grocery list prior to arrival, we can stock the villa with everything they need or even have something ready to eat if they are arriving late.
We always want to be able to say “yes” to our clients — “yes we have it, yes we can do it” so almost anything is possible on request. We can organise a private chef to prepare meals or book a yacht for day excursions. Last year, a guest wanted to explore some of the beaches of Crete, so we organised an umbrella and a cool box for them free of charge.
All of our cleaning services are customised, so if guests want cleaning everyday, every few days, in the morning or the afternoon — it’s up to them to decide what suits them.
I would recommend going hiking and exploring some of Crete’s archaeological sites. The island of Spinalonga is a popular day trip and can be reached by boat in around 10 minutes from Elounda.
Elounda Villa is located in the village of Elounda, which is on the northeast coast of Crete. It is one of the most famous villages on the island for high-end properties — lots of famous people stay here.
One of the really nice things about the villa is that wherever you want to go, it means walking along the coastline. In five minutes, you can walk to high-end restaurants and bars or be in the heart of the village and the closest beach is directly in front of the property.
Around 10 minutes away by car is a larger town, Agios Nikolaos, where there are clothing boutiques, lots of restaurants and bars.
One of the advantages of Crete is its southerly location, meaning the weather is much better than in the north of Greece. Even in April and October you can have really nice temperatures — it’s not too hot or too cold for exploring the archaeological sites.
That being said, we still have most of our visitors during the peak months of July and August due to school and university holidays but our operating season is much longer than in other parts of Greece. Last year, properties on Crete were opening towards the end of March and didn’t close until around mid-November. We are also starting to get requests from nomads who are looking for nice places to work during the winter months.
