An introduction to Villa Divina II

How would you describe the villa in a nutshell?

Our villas are sleek, contemporary villas overlooking the coastline in the northwest of Skiathos. They are designed as destinations to relax or, as we like to call it, “relux” in a quiet part of the island while enjoying delightful views. We want to do everything to ensure our guests are living life to the fullest during their stay.

What is the story behind the villa, what was your inspiration to create it?

Because of its landscapes and magnificent sunsets, we fell in love with the Kechria area of Skiathos the moment we arrived. Together with 3H Architects, we sought to create sleek yet playful designs, with characteristic villas that blend into the surrounding olive groves.

Boasting sea views, the infinity pools are surrounded by large terraces where guests can enjoy the alfresco Greek lifestyle. All of our villas have stunning backdrops featuring the Aegean Sea and the Mandraki Natural Reserve.

How would you describe the atmosphere and the interior design of the villas?

All of our villas feature sleek interiors where we worked as much as possible with natural colours and materials. They feature a Scandinavian aesthetic, with lots of wood and beige/white-coloured furniture.

To you personally, what is so special about the different villas?

Villa Divina II has the most beautiful sunset views over the surrounding landscape and the Aegean Sea, which immediately creates the relaxing feeling that you want on holidays. It offers a low-key space that is ideal for unwinding, unplugging and soaking up the invigorating island sun.

Villa Divina II rooms & rates

Upon arrival at the villa, there is a private parking space for guests. Villa II is deliciously private, sleek and modular, with several pavilions that are connected by covered terraces. It combines stone, metal, wood and concrete in its design, with a geometric perch from where all eyes are directed out to sea.

On entering the ground floor, you arrive in the open-plan kitchen and living space, with sliding glass doors that connect to the outdoor terrace. Here you’ll find a barbecue and views across the infinity pool (7.5 x 3.75 metres) towards the sea.

Four ensuite bedrooms can be found within this rambling, multilevel space, which is connected by sunlit stairwells and long, shaded porches. An infinity pool stretches beside the outdoor living and dining decks, which have been furnished with comfortable seating for contemplating the views.

On the ground floor are two master bedrooms that enjoy a front-row seat for watching the sunset. The two junior bedrooms can be found around the inner courtyard on the basement level.

Due to the island’s compact nature, you can easily drive from the peaceful area surrounding the villas to the lively town of Skiathos or one of the many beaches the island has to offer. Nearby are two easygoing beaches with tavernas that serve delicious food. Warning: these can be addictive and you may want to go back again and again.

In my opinion, you cannot leave Skiathos without hiking to the medieval fortifications of Kastro as the views are amazing. From there, you can continue to Kastro Beach for a swim. A hiking trail also leads through a magical forest and past a dreamy river to Kechira Beach, which is an ideal setting for a cold drink and a meal featuring the best fish on the island. Last but not least, you should definitely pay a visit to the charming town of Skiathos, which is home to small streets, restaurants, bars and shops.

The location of Villa Divina II

Villa Divina II is located in the northwest of Skiathos, just above Kechria Beach and close to the medieval fortifications of Kastro. Hiring a 4x4 car is highly recommended because of the dirt roads surrounding the villa.

The closest taverna to Villa Divina II is around 10 minutes away at Kechria Beach. There are more restaurants in Skiathos’ main town, which is around 25 minutes away. Here you’ll also find supermarkets.

When is the best time to visit Skiathos?

The season for visiting Skiathos starts in May and ends in late September/the beginning of October. For me, the best time to enjoy the island is June or September. But it all depends on what you are looking for. The summer months of July and August are the most popular, with lots of people on the island and a great ambiance in the bars and on the beaches.
