An introduction to Perfect Beach House

How would you describe the house in a nutshell?

The house is like a design object. It’s a small space but designed with attention to detail so that everything inside the house is perfectly organised. We were inspired to create a micro-home that you could place anywhere in the world, without requiring a lot of space and with the ability to stand alone. It was designed to realise this idea and create a cultural impact while at the same time being environmentally friendly. Located on the beautiful island of Rhodes, The house exudes an atmosphere of relaxation, with minimalistic use of colours and materials to make it feel like home. It allows you to easily transition between the inside and outside worlds, with exterior views when you’re sleeping, cooking or taking your bath.

How would you describe the architecture and design?

We wanted to create an interface between the interior and exterior of the home by designing large windows at the top that make you feel like you are outside while still being protected from the elements. Through these windows, you can see the sky, the moon and the trees, which makes you feel totally connected to the outside world.

We are not architects but designers, so we also wanted to create a house that is easy to construct. The house was built in three months and could easily be replicated by others in the future.

Perfect Beach House rooms & rates

The house is located off a small residential street and when you enter through the main door, there’s a spacious kitchen on your right and on the left, you have the bathroom, which is also quite large. Directly in front of you is the bedroom that can be accessed by two different entrances and has a storage area and closet, while in front of the main entrance you have the terrace, which looks out onto the gardens. On one side of the house is an outdoor shower. It’s ideal for two people (or a couple with a baby or toddler) and has the perception of being much larger than it is due to its design and the use of windows.

There are two tables to dine at — one inside and on the terrace — as well as sun chairs and poufs that you can position wherever you want to relax. We offer cleaning every three days and there’s plenty of parking space if you’re hiring a car to explore Rhodes. To help our guests settle in, we also create a welcome kit as well as providing them with a suggested 3-day itinerary that highlights some of the best places to visit restaurants that we really like the most beautiful beaches and the best windsurfing spots around the island.

The kitchen’s equipped with a small oven stove, dishwasher and fridge, as well as all the utensils you need to cook a simple meal while the bathroom is stocked with towels and toiletries. There’s a Smart TV if you want to watch a movie on Netflix in the evenings and guests can connect via Bluetooth to the hi-fi system.

Firstly, I would recommend visiting the Old Town, which is a mix of Italian, Greek and Turkish architectural influences and has been UNESCO World Heritage listed. If you like windsurfing or kitesurfing, then Prassonissi on the southern tip is great or there are lots of beautiful swimming beaches along the entire southern coast. The great thing about Rhodes is that it’s not too big, but it’s big enough that you don’t get bored. There are more than 300 beaches and a diverse range of things to do, whether you want an active holiday or something more tranquil. If you want a change of scenery, you can take a boat to the island of Symi where there are no cars or traffic. Rhodes really offers a bit of everything.

Das Haus war sehr schön, ruhig und Ideal für den Aufenthalt von ein bis zwei Personen. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war bestens.
Ich empfehle ein kleines Auto zu mieten um schnell an die schönsten Stellen auf Rhodos zu gelangen. Schöne Wege für einen Spaziergang oder Joggen in der Nähe des Hauses habe ich leider nicht gefunden.

My week at the Monocabin was very relaxing and rewarding. The arrangements with Michail were very clear and my arrival via taxi transfer was smooth and efficient. The Monocabin is very quiet, clean and comfortable; I was a single visitor, but I imagine two people would enjoy the intimacy of the space and the organized layout. Everything was how it should be to have a calm stay for a holiday, from the aesthetics of the rooms to the terrace and the garden area. The beach was 3 minutes away and the supermarket was close by. The local tavernas were a welcome addition. I would certainly go back to stay at Monocabin as a base to explore Rhodes in more detail.

My stay at the monocabin was nothing short of perfect. The pre-arrival communications with George were perfect to ensure check in went smoothly. The cabin is in a very good location in close proximity to the airport and Rhodes town. It is easily accessible and within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The monocabin itself was clean and exactly as described and pictured. I found that the parking was secure and the yard was very spacious. My stay was quiet and comfortable. Although I was only a solo traveller, this is very well suited for 1-2 persons. All amenities for eating, sleeping, and relaxing are part of your stay. The bed was comfortable and the design elements present at the property were enough to inspire me to want to acquire a cabin of my own and some of the wonderful elements that were showcased. I would highly recommend the monocabin for anyone who would like a nice off the beaten path place to lay their hat for vacation or a good remote working environment. Thank you!

Wonderful week! We had a wonderful week at Monocabin. The house is absolutely beautiful, tastefully designed and very well equipped – you can arrive and just start your vacation, everything”s there. The yard is spacious and a perfect retreat from any touristy activity. The communication with George/Koli was great, he always answered immediately. The same goes for communication on site, Andreas assisted in everything we needed. The local recommendations were great. The location of Perfect Beach House

The house is located in the upmarket residential area of Ialisos, which is around 10 mins’ drive from Rhodes Airport. It’s just 150 metres from a pebbly beach, so you can easily walk there for a swim, as well as being a short stroll from traditional Greek mini markets, a bakery and a well-stocked Carrefour supermarket.

The best choice of restaurants is in Rhodes Town, which is around 15 mins’ drive away or the taxis on the island are very affordable if you don’t want to hire a car. You’re within easy access of the port if you want to go island hopping and the house is around 20 mins’ drive to the beautiful beaches that stretch to the south and 45 mins from Lindos.

When is the best time to visit Rhodes?

August is the high season in Rhodes when the majority of tourists visit but the island is big enough that you can still find quiet places if that’s what you’re after. Otherwise, the months on either side of August offer warm and sunny conditions or you might even want to consider early October if you don’t like the heat.

Easter can be a great time to visit if you want to see a more traditional side of Rhodes but outside of the summer months, it tends to be quite empty. If you’re looking for a winter escape, the temperatures only drop to around 10-12 degrees Celsius but you’ll still get a sense of the season as the trees lose their leaves.
